    Practice Owner

My name is Deb Donovan and I am the new owner of Companion Animal Hospital here in Shallotte, NC.  I’m originally from southeast Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.  After practicing in the Ft. Lauderdale area, I fell in love with coastal Carolina and relocated here in the spring of 2006.  I practiced veterinary medicine in New Hanover County, until I purchased Companion Animal Hospital in March, 2011.

I love animals of all kinds, especially the 4-legged, fuzzy ones. I am involved with several local animal rescue groups and share my home with 5 dogs and 4 cats – all rescues.  I donate my surgical skills to Friends of Felines to spay and neuter feral cats in the area.  I am also Vice President of Pleasure Island Paws, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals in need.
